Some people write books. Some people create worlds. And some spend a lifetime planting seeds that continue flowering through other people’s lives.
For us, Ariel Spilsbury is one of those people.

Ariel describes herself through a wonderfully untamable constellation of identities: mystic, wisewoman, Faerie Godmother, sound priestess, crystal singer, consciousness trainer, truth teller, mythic guide, Divine Child magician, mythic scriptwriter and planetary midwife.
Perhaps that is appropriate.

When we think of Ariel, the image that comes to us is a Grandmother Tree.
A tree does not tell every new branch exactly how to grow.
It roots deeply.
It shelters.
It nourishes.
It remembers.
And beneath the soil, an entire invisible network connects one life with another.
Ariel has spent more than four decades sharing teachings centered on the Divine Feminine, archetype, ceremony and conscious evolution. Her current biographical materials describe her as an author, planetary midwife and Priestess of the Goddess who has traveled internationally sharing this work.
Today, she continues offering mentoring, spiritual counseling, events and teachings devoted to what she understands as planetary awakening and conscious evolution.
Her work also stands at the roots of the 13 Moon Mystery School, a living body of teachings and practices exploring Divine Feminine archetypes and their application to contemporary life.

At the heart of Ariel’s work is a fascinating proposition:
What if an archetype is not simply something we study intellectually?
What if it can become a doorway through which we encounter unexplored dimensions of ourselves?
The world surrounding the 13 Moon Mystery School explores archetypes, ceremony, mythic lineage, shadow, resonance, coherence, lunar cycles, sacred geometry and other experiential approaches to consciousness.
Its present Sanctuary describes itself as a nonprofit dedicated to the wisdom teachings of the Divine Feminine and as the home of the 13 Moon Mystery School.
And at the foundation of much of this work are Ariel’s books.

It is less a conventional textbook than an invitation into an experiential mystery-school framework.

🌕 The 13 Moon Oracle: Finding Guidance From Within
Perhaps Ariel’s best-known body of work is the 13 Moon Oracle.
Its contemporary Temple in a Box expression combines 39 oracle cards, a 204-page guidebook, a moon-cycle oracle board, three throwing tokens and 13 archetypal guided meditations.
The emphasis is not simply on drawing a card and receiving an answer.
The larger practice invites participants to encounter archetypal dimensions of the Divine Feminine through imagery, lunar cycles, meditation and self-inquiry.
In other words, the Oracle is intended as something to experience, not merely read.

Ariel has also written guidance for people exploring the priestess path in contemporary life.

Among all these explorations of archetype and Mystery, another voice began speaking.
This time, through the Faerie Realm.
Gaia’s New DreamCoat: A Faerie Guide to Gaia’s Greening opens the door to an altogether playful expression of Ariel’s work.
Ariel describes it as a mythic reweaving of Gaia’s story.
Across 25 stories and audio transmissions, the reader encounters wisdom carried by an extraordinary community of faeries, elves, gnomes, mermaids, devas, dryads, sylphs, sprites, Wee Folk and emissaries from the animal, plant and mineral kingdoms.
The book’s invitation is particularly beautiful:
We are not asked simply to watch these characters save the Earth.
We are invited to become Mythmakers ourselves.
The wise shepherds of the Devic and Faerie realms become companions in imagining another relationship between humanity, ourselves and the living Earth.
And Ariel herself becomes our storytelling Faerie Godmother.
🧚 The Faerie Godmother
This is perhaps one of the things we treasure most about Ariel.
Wisdom doesn’t always have to arrive wearing a serious face.
Sometimes wisdom giggles.
Sometimes it sings.
Sometimes it invents impossible words.
Sometimes it wears wings.
Sometimes it asks the Divine Child to come out and play.
And sometimes the deepest questions about humanity and Earth can be approached through a faerie story.
Ariel’s work repeatedly brings together things our culture often separates:
Wisdom and play.
Mystery and laughter.
Archetype and imagination.
Earth and cosmos.
Ancient symbolism and present-day life.
The Elder and the Divine Child.
Perhaps that is why “Faerie Godmother” feels like much more than a whimsical title.
It describes a way of teaching.
🌸 The Garden Keeps Growing
We came into Ariel’s garden through friendship, creativity, music and storytelling.
And something beautiful began happening.
One creation inspired another.
Stories became songs.
Paintings suggested movement.
Characters began asking for voices.
Illustrations began becoming little circular worlds.
And Gaia’s New DreamCoat began whispering another possibility:
What if this world could someday become a movie?
That question is helping inspire our developing Gaia’s Faerie Garden project—a creative garden of music, storytelling, collectible art and community participation intended to help nurture the possibility of bringing Gaia’s New DreamCoat toward the screen.
But before we tell that story, we wanted first to honor the woman who planted the original seed.

Perhaps that is what a Grandmother Tree ultimately does.
She doesn’t create a forest in her own image.
She creates enough shade, nourishment and possibility...
for countless new seeds to discover how they want to grow.
