From Military Service to Creative Renewal: A San Diego Couple Builds the Purrniverse
Luna Dais is a San Diego veteran-led creative collective creating music, stories, and imaginative learning experiences for future generations. Founded by veterans Seth and Daisy Melchizedek, the collective brings together original writing, human voices, visual art, feline characters, and human-directed Ethical Creative Technology to explore courage, kindness, belonging, emotional awareness, and the power of imagination.

In a San Diego creative studio (Purr8Studio), poetry, dream-inspired stories, original voices, digital production, and the expressive meows of an orange tabby are becoming music, children’s stories, visual art, and community experiences.
The artists behind this unusual body of work are U.S. Navy veteran Daisy Melchizedek and U.S. Air Force veteran Seth Melchizedek. Together, they create as Luna Dais, a San Diego-based creative collective and the primary artist project of Purr8Studio.
Their work spans original music, children’s audio stories, visual storytelling, participatory art, and a growing imaginative universe known as the Purrniverse. At its center is Master Jericho, the couple’s orange tabby, whose authentic vocal expressions have found their way into recordings and stories alongside the artists’ own voices.
Although the project is playful, its purpose is serious: to explore how creativity can bring people together, help veterans establish new forms of service, and make artistic production more accessible through emerging technology.
The Meaning of Luna Dais
The name Luna Dais is poetically understood by its creators as “Altar of the Moon.”
It describes an imaginative meeting place where dreams, poetry, music, memory, and consciousness can be explored. The name also reflects the balance of the couple’s collaboration: personal source material is transformed into creative work intended for a wider audience.
Daisy’s archive of poetry, prose, and reflective writing has inspired lyrics, spoken-word pieces, songs, and musical narratives. Seth’s dream-inspired material has contributed characters, settings, and story concepts across several projects.
Their growing catalog includes albums and works such as DreamScape, Whispers of Avalon, Soul Journey, I Choose You, and The Golden Age, etc. While the projects vary in style, they share an interest in imagination, inner life, human connection, and the possibility of creating something meaningful after major life transitions.
A New Expression of Service
Military experience shaped Daisy and Seth in different ways, but both eventually found renewed purpose through creativity.
Daisy’s artistic practice developed through poetry, prose, visual imagery, music, and community gatherings. Seth draws inspiration from dreams, symbols, imagined places, and narrative fragments collected over many years.
Their creative partnership brings these different sources together. Daisy often begins with written language, reflection, and visual concepts. Seth frequently contributes dream-inspired narratives, characters, and symbolic worlds. Together, they develop the material through voice recordings, musical arrangement, editing, storytelling, and shared artistic direction.
For the couple, this work represents a continuation of service through different means—creating opportunities for imagination, participation, and connection.
Luna Dais does not present art or music as a substitute for healthcare or professional support. Instead, its work focuses on the widely shared human value of creative expression: making something, exchanging stories, learning through play, and connecting with others.
Expanding the Veteran Story
Veterans are often portrayed primarily through stories of deployment, sacrifice, injury, or difficult transitions. Those experiences deserve recognition, but they do not encompass the full range of veteran life.
Veterans also become musicians, poets, educators, designers, parents, storytellers, technologists, and community artists.
Luna Dais offers one example of that wider story. Daisy and Seth’s work is not framed as a perfect transformation or a completed journey. It is an evolving creative practice built through experimentation, partnership, and engagement with the community.
Their story suggests that service can continue in many forms: sharing music, preserving stories, creating welcoming spaces, supporting intergenerational learning, or placing art materials on a table and inviting people to make something together.

Master Jericho is more than the collective’s mascot. Within the Purrniverse, he appears as a character, narrator, teacher, and playful ambassador.
His presence helps the work speak to both children and adults. The stories allow wisdom to arrive through unexpected forms: a dream, a song, a child’s question, a cosmic traveler—or a carefully timed meow.
Luna Dais playfully calls one part of its fictional world “CAGI,” or Cat Artificial General Intelligence. CAGI is not presented as a scientific or technological claim. It is a humorous storytelling concept used to imagine collaboration among human creativity, feline expression, sound, memory, and generative tools.
Children’s audio stories such as “Jericho World” and “The Great Milk Bowl” introduce listeners to this whimsical mythology. Through music and recurring characters, the stories explore kindness, courage, emotional awareness, curiosity, creativity, and respect for the living world.

MeowTV Stories for Children, and “Cosmic CAT Collective” for the Collective Inner Child
MeowTV (and “Cosmic CAT Collective”): another part of the couple’s creative work, brings together music, audio stories, visual storytelling, and creative learning materials.
Daisy and Seth describe MeowTV as a “school of the collective inner child”—a place where children and adults can rediscover curiosity and imagination together.
Their children’s science-fiction stories look toward a distant future while asking a distinctly present-day question: What might civilization become if kindness, creativity, emotional awareness, and love were valued alongside scientific and technological intelligence?
This intergenerational approach also appears in Luna Dais community art activities. Children, parents, grandparents, veterans, and other participants are invited to create side by side through activities such as mask-making, mandala painting, nature-inspired designs, and cat-themed stencil art.
The goal is not technical perfection. It is participation: choosing colors, working with the hands, sharing ideas, and experiencing the freedom to create.
Luna Dais has offered creative experiences in San Diego, Escondido, the surrounding region, and the greater Los Angeles area. In 2025, the collective participated in the VETART-presented “Through the Looking Glass” experience at Grape Day Park in Escondido, contributing visual art, music, and participatory creativity to the public event.
An Invitation Into the Purrniverse
Across music, children’s audio storytelling, MeowTV materials, community art, and sacred creative practice, Luna Dais is building a world united by imagination, love, connection, and play.
Its work crosses familiar categories: part music project, part story universe, part community arts practice, and part experiment in human-directed creative technology. The result is not easily contained within a single genre—and that openness is central to the project.
Luna Dais invites listeners and families to approach creativity as a meeting place: an altar of the heart where dreams can become songs, poems can become journeys, a cat’s meow can open a doorway, and people of many generations can rediscover the pleasure of imagining together.
Bringing the Purrniverse Into the Community
Luna Dais also brings its creative world into physical community spaces through hands-on, intergenerational art circles. Designed for children, parents, and grandparents, these gatherings encourage participants of different ages to create beside one another.
Activities have included making cat masks, painting mandalas, exploring butterfly and nature patterns, and creating stencil art on cat-themed bags. The emphasis is not simply on producing a finished object. The workshops are intended to encourage playful creativity, family connection, storytelling, and artistic exchange across generations.
These art experiences have been offered in San Diego and surrounding communities, including Escondido, as well as in the greater Los Angeles area.

Sacred Creative Experiences for Adults
Separate from its children’s and family programming, Luna Dais offers sacred journeys and ritual-initiation experiences intended for adults. These experiences explore reflection, creativity, intention, and personal transformation through music and guided ceremonial practice.

Maintaining a clear separation between adult ceremonial experiences and children’s programming is an important part of presenting the collective’s different areas of work to the public.
The Next Chapter
Daisy and Seth hope to expand Luna Dais through new music, children’s audio stories, MeowTV programming, community art gatherings, and collaborations with veteran organizations, libraries, schools, family programs, local artists, and cultural institutions.
They are also interested in contributing to the public conversation surrounding independent artists and AI-assisted media—particularly questions of human authorship, creative access, transparency, and responsible production.
At its heart, their work asks audiences to see veterans not only through what they have experienced, but also through what they continue to imagine, create, and contribute.
For Daisy and Seth, this next chapter of service sounds like music, looks like a shared art table, and occasionally answers in the voice of an orange tabby.
