Project Initiative: From Prayer to Compassionate Action
Art for Nepal: Youth Healing & Fundraising Tour extends the intention of the Dragonlight Healing Circle beyond the weekly gathering and into the wider community—bringing together prayer, creativity, healing, storytelling, and compassionate action.
Through collaborative fundraising events, MeowTV media storytelling, and the Purrniverse Meow Meow Art Table, the initiative aims to create welcoming spaces where children, youth, and adults can make art together while raising awareness and meaningful support for young people and families in Nepal and Tibet.
At the heart of the initiative is a belief that fundraising can be more than financial support. Creativity itself can become part of the healing process—giving young people space to express their experiences, emotions, dreams, resilience, and hopes for the future.
By combining community art, nonprofit collaboration, storytelling, and collective care, Art for Nepal seeks to transform prayer into participation, participation into connection, and connection into compassionate action.

Project Overview
Art for Nepal: Youth Healing & Fundraising Tour is a collaborative community initiative bringing together nonprofit organizations, artists, healers, educators, youth, families, businesses, and community leaders to raise awareness and tangible support for young people and families affected by flooding and hardship in Nepal and Tibet.
Inspired by Guan Thai’s Dragonlight Healing Circle, the project expands the intention of collective prayer into community-based compassionate action.
Rather than creating a single fundraising event, we envision a tour of collaborative events, with local nonprofit and community organizations invited to participate, share their missions, offer interactive experiences, and collectively raise support for Nepal and Tibet.
At the heart of the tour is a simple idea:

PROJECT VISION

The Art for Nepal: Youth Healing & Fundraising Tour carries the intention of the Dragonlight Healing Circle beyond the weekly gathering and into communities—uniting prayer, creativity, healing, storytelling, play, and compassionate action.
Through collaborative fundraising events, MeowTV media storytelling, and the Purrniverse Meow Meow Art Table, we hope to create spaces where children, youth, and adults can make art together while raising awareness and tangible support for young people and families in Nepal and Tibet.
Rather than simply fundraising for youth, we want creativity to become part of the healing itself—giving young people a place to express their experiences, dreams, resilience, imagination, and hopes for the future.
We also envision the artwork becoming a bridge between cultures.
Children and community members participating in tour events can create paintings, mandalas, messages, prayer cards, and works of love for Nepal. These creations can be shared with young people in Nepal, who can in turn contribute their own art and stories.
Through MeowTV, these voices and creations can travel far beyond any individual event.
The result becomes more than fundraising.
It becomes a living creative exchange between communities.
THE TOUR
Rather than asking organizations simply to donate, Art for Nepal invites them to participate.
Each tour gathering can bring together several local nonprofit organizations and community partners under one shared intention.
Organizations can:
Host an interactive activity or free game
Introduce their community mission
Provide volunteers or resources
Lead a creative, educational, wellness, or healing experience
Invite their own communities to participate
Help raise awareness for Nepal

The Compassion in Action Wheel
Every Spin Is a Win
A centerpiece of the tour will be a colorful spinning wheel representing the organizations participating in each event.
But instead of a traditional prize wheel, every section leads to a free experience.
How It Works
Each participating nonprofit or community organization receives a section of the wheel.
A visitor spins.
Wherever the wheel lands, they discover that organization and are invited to participate in its free mini-game, creative experience, challenge, healing activity, or symbolic gift.

Each organization can invent its own experience.
THE GOLDEN NEPAL SPACE
The wheel can contain one special Golden Nepal section.
Landing here invites the participant into a collective action.
They might:
Ring a singing bowl for Nepal.
Add a brushstroke to a community mandala.
Write a message to a young person in Nepal.
Place a prayer or intention on a community tree.
Create a small piece of artwork.
Learn something about Nepalese culture.
Or simply pause together for a moment of compassion.
Over the course of the tour, these individual contributions can become a large collaborative artwork representing thousands of small acts of love.

An important principle of Spin for Nepal is:
Every game is free.
The goal is not to turn compassion into a transaction.
Children and families should be able to participate regardless of their ability to donate.

TURNING PLAY INTO FUNDRAISING
Although participation is free, every spin can still generate support.
Sponsor-a-Spin
Businesses, donors, foundations, or community sponsors could pledge:
$1 per spin
$5 per completed activity
$100 for every 100 participants
or another predetermined contribution.
Imagine being able to announce:

The game therefore becomes measurable community action.

The emphasis is not artistic perfection.
It is expression, presence, connection, and play.
Where professional therapeutic services are not being provided by licensed practitioners, we would describe this component publicly as Healing Through Art, Therapeutic Art, or Community Healing Arts, rather than clinical “Art Therapy.”
CHILD-TO-CHILD CREATIVE EXCHANGE
One of the most meaningful possibilities is connecting participating youth directly through creativity.
From Our Community to Nepal
Young people attending U.S. events can create:
“A Message for Nepal”
Artwork, drawings, photographs, mandalas, poems, or short video messages can be collected and shared with participating Nepalese communities.
From Nepal to the World
Nepalese youth can then be invited to create:
“My Dream for the Future.”
Their artwork and stories could become part of:

Instead of portraying Nepalese youth simply as recipients of aid, we give them opportunities to be creators, storytellers, and voices within the project.
